Prices in US dollars, excluding tax. Every account starts on Free: you move to Pro from inside the product when you actually need the eleventh device or an attended session, not before.

Add-ons

Add-ons attach to a Pro account and are billed on what you used. They are separate line items because they have a real cost behind them, and burying that in the device price would mean charging everybody for something most people do not use.

Add-onPriceHow it is counted
Quick support $10 per technician, per month Counted as the number of people who started at least one attended session that month. A technician who started none is not billed, and the machine on the other end is never counted as a device.
Bitdefender EDRUpcoming $4 per device, per month Counted per device per calendar month. Turning it on part way through the month bills that month in full, because our own licence is charged the same way. Not available yet.

How the counting works

Two rules, both visible in your account every day of the month, so the invoice is never the first time you see the number.

Everything is billed monthly in arrears, in US dollars, excluding tax.

How that compares

The budget end of this market runs from $1 to $2.50 per endpoint, the mainstream from $2.50 to $4, and attended-support seats cluster between $20 and $35 per technician. Most vendors will not print any of it.

Frequently asked questions

Is the free tier really free?

Yes. Up to 10 devices, forever, with every feature switched on and no card required. It is not a trial and it does not expire.

What counts as a device?

Any Windows or Linux machine with the Moorfox agent installed and not archived. Archived machines do not count, and neither do attended quick-support sessions.

How are devices counted for billing?

By the highest number of active devices you had on any single day in the month, minus the 10 that are always free. Swapping a laptop mid month does not cost you twice.

What happens when I add the eleventh device?

The product asks you to move to Pro first. Nothing is deleted or disconnected, and the 10 devices you already have carry on working whatever you decide.

Why is quick support charged per technician rather than per device?

Because there is no device to charge for. An attended session runs on a machine you may never see again, so the honest unit is the person doing the supporting. Only technicians who actually ran a session that month are counted.

When is the EDR add-on available, and how is it billed?

It is not available yet, and the price is published early so you can plan around it. When it lands it will be billed per device per calendar month, for any device that had EDR switched on at any point in that month. Bitdefender licenses it to us on exactly that basis, so turning it off part way through will not refund the month.

Are there contracts, minimums or setup fees?

None of the three. Billing is monthly and in arrears, so you pay for what you used after you have used it, and you can stop at any time.

Do I have to talk to a salesperson?

No. There is no sales team to talk to. Sign up, install an agent, and the whole product is in front of you.
